BALITA

Dear All,

With God's grace, we were able to hold the twin events last April 19.

We had the blessing of HILOM at about 2:45 p,m. Some 50 or so classmates, clad in white 40th Jubilee Year t-shirt and denim, attended the affair. We had also the MHPNHS Principal, Department Heads, Nurse and PTA President in attendance. Gov. Jon-Jon Mendoza sent a representative, Ms. Mendoza. Mayor Danny, who came later, had his Engineer as his representative. Fr. Mon of Sta. Isabel officiated the blessing. From the words of the Dr. Pascual, the principal, he said, he had toured the whole of Bulacan district and he has not seen a medical clinic as nice as our HILOM Center.

All the guests and the Class 68 members themselves enjoyed looking at all the section's class pictures taken in 1968 and our names posted in the walls. Ganda talaga. Tapos, in the middle of the picture is a brass plate - our Alay wordings in the HILOM Marker. May banda pa kaya parang fiesta.

Then we all proceeded to Barcie and changed into our Hawaiian attire. How colorful indeed the dresses and polos of our classmates. As they registered, flower leis made of silk in different colors were put on their necks. Then the Sampaguita Hall of Barcie was transformed into Hawaiian tropics complete with palms and trees and  colored confetti scattered in the floor.

We had mass of thanksgiving which was also a mass offered for our departed classmates. More than 160 classmates came and about 16 former teachers. We had class and solo picture taking for the Rekwerdo. Pekto also showed a snapshot of the Rekwerdo complilation of pictures - past and present in a video format.

The night was full of dancing, raffle and give aways. Special dance presentations from Terry Magpayo, Wilma Monzon Leonife Rubio provided much enjoyment to everyone. We had raffles, give aways. Of course, the most important of all ay ang walang katapusang kwento, tuksuhan at kumustahan. Super saya talaga. Sayang we miss the others who were unable to come.

The following were given plaques of appreciation for their active participation in the HILOM Project and reunion: Vanny Agustin, Luming de Jesus, Rey Fajardo, August Santos, Ethel Palermo, and Danny Domingo and our three past presidents: Perfecto Martin, Meynard Lizaso and Danny Tanwangco.

Our Gawad Kamag-aral Award was given to our two classmates, who are teachers in MHPNHS: Temis Ramos dela Rama and Brigida Cruz Alba. Suprised ang dalawa but so happy to be given that recognition.

Two more events will wind up the jubilee year: Medical and Dental Mission for the last quarter of 2008 and the Christmas Party in December.

In terms of funds collected, as mentioned, we have reached our target of P500,000. As of last count it was P560,000 but some of our classmates turned over their contributions to Luming during that night.

We will be preparing the Statement of Account and will post it here for everybody to see.

In the next few days, we will still procure some of the items needed in the Center.

Anyway, the 2009-2013 new set of officers will have to prepare for the 45th anniversary come April 2013.

The newly-elected officers are: President - Mayor Danny Domingo; Vice - Luming Catap; Secretary-treasurer - Irene Bamba; Ex-Officio - Glecy Bagasin and Meynard Lizaso.

Again, my profuse thanks to all the members of class 68, all the officers and committee members and to all your friends, families and institutions who gave support, assistance, inspiration, and financial resources to make the event worth reminiscing once more.

Thank you again to Mayor Danny for the construction of the HILOM
Center. We look forward to receiving the dental chair from Cong. Marivic Alvarado and aircon from Gov. Jon-Jon Mendoza. Let us all pray for the early delivery of these items.

We are still receiving contributions so if you would want to, please send to Luming Catap.

I am really proud to be part of MHPHS Class 68.

Sincerely,

GLECY ROQUE BAGASIN
